The Pneumatic Crimping Applicator is AMT’s solution for processing larger wire cross-sections that exceed the capacity of mechanical applicators. Handling wires from 10 to 20 sq mm, this air-powered unit delivers the crimping force needed for heavy-gauge automotive power cables, battery leads, and industrial control wiring without the physical effort required by manual presses.

What distinguishes this applicator from the mechanical range is its elimination of tooling changeover for closed tube terminals in sizes 10-12. Where mechanical applicators require a full crimper set swap to move between terminal sizes, the pneumatic unit handles this range without an applicator change — a significant time saving on production lines processing multiple wire gauges in sequence.

At 650 x 500 x 480 mm and 6.5 kg, the Pneumatic Crimping Applicator is a standalone benchtop unit that connects to standard shop air supply. The pneumatic cylinders deliver consistent crimping force on every cycle regardless of operator fatigue, making it the preferred choice for high-volume production of power cables and large-gauge connections where crimp consistency directly impacts electrical safety and performance.
